Who are the LCA Free Thinkers?

The Free Thinkers are the graduate student association for the Department of Languages and Cultures of Asia at the University of Wisconsin. All students in our department are welcome to attend our meetings and gatherings, and to join in with any and all frivolities which ensue!

AMERICAN ACADEMY OF RELIGION (AAR) ANNUAL MEETING (National)
Visit American Academy of Religion for more information about AAR, membership, and the annual meeting.

Students can register for the conference for very reasonable rates, though special hotel rates have limited availablity. An online program book is available from the AAR website, in which you can browse the names and topics of the multitude of presenters at this conference. Anyone can register for the meeting up until the last minute, as there exists an online registration form, plus the AAR always has on-site registration available at the conference itself.

Regional meetings are a great place for graduate students to present their research, and the next regional AAR meeting will be at Luther Seminary in St. Paul. Check the website for the Call for Papers for this conference, and the conveners of various sessions. Abstracts (150-200 words) along with paper title, your name, address (email and snail-mail), and any audio-visual needs should be directed to the covener of the session that best fits with your paper (limit of one submission per participant):
